Nano Stern

26 year old Nano Stern, a World music virtuoso and Chilean rising superstar has firmly placed his stamp on the burgeoning Latin folk/world music scene enthralling festival crowds and filling concert halls in Chile, Australia and now in Europe.

In his homeland his albums have stormed the charts, his 2009 release Los Espejos was rated by Rolling Stone (Chile) as #3 in its Top 100 albums, while his previous album Voy Y Veulvo, won the Chilean Journalist’s Choice Award (APES) for Best Album. Critical review and popular appeal have followed in Australia, the UK & Sweden.

Releasing his first recordings through various collaborations at the tender age of 21, and performing much earlier, his effortless style, energy and power inexplicably weaves threads of connection between him and his audience. A master at mesmerising the crowd, Nano can in an instant have the room on their feet – shouting for more. His songs - sung mainly in his traditional Chilean Spanish – fuse with stories eloquently delivered in English and come from the wide spectrum of life that befits such a social troubadour. It is his incredible technique, musicality and authentic delivery of tender and delicate poems of love and loss that sit alongside political and anthemic tributes to his home and the world at large that has his audiences talking for days.

Credited widely as a creator of the new Chilean sound, Nano fuses traditional Latin American and European folk music with modern rock, folk and jazz. His talent extends well beyond his voice and guitar as he incorporates piano, violin, Swedish flute and mandolin.

Years on the world music festival circuit have given him the opportunity to work with celebrated and emerging performers alike. Stern is the only Latin American musician to have participated in and become a leader of Ethno Gatherings in Europe, in which traditional musicians from all over the world get together every year to share and explore their musical traditions. "One of the best things for me is teaching. I absolutely love doing festival workshops. Just talking about the whole culture of my region and showing people how to play is so rewarding”, says Nano.

After three international studio album releases and a steady demand for appearances around the world, this young artist now stands at an exciting point in his career. Nano Stern has gathered a faithful following by developing his career through talent, sheer determination and the unwavering belief in himself and the power of music. As his star continues to rise, now is the time to see this talented musician - one destined to be a major influence in the ever-evolving and growing realm of world music.
